Jenő Czuczai

Legal Adviser, Legal Service of the Council of the EU /since April 2006- /.

Professor of the College of Europe, Brugge and Natolin (Warsaw) since the 1997/1998 Academic year.

He was Chief Legal Adviser to the HU Presidency of the Council of the EU (seconded from the GSC to Budapest between 1.12.2010 and 1.7.2011).

First (founding) President of the Hungarian FIDE Association /2003-2006/. He was national rapporteur at the FIDE Congress (Dublin, 2004) and chaired sessions at the FIDE Congresses (Linz 2008, Madrid 2010).

He obtained a Doctorate degree, with summa cum laude, in Legal and Political Sciences from the ELTE University, Budapest (1991). Head of Unit in the Prime Minister Office of Hungary (1991-1992). Director at different HU Privatization Institutions (1992-1995). Legal Adviser at the Delegation of the European Commission in Budapest (1995-2001). Co-founder and Vice-President of the European Law Academy in Budapest (1999-2006). He tought EU law, Roman Law and Comparative legal transitology at several HU Universities (1991-2006). Member of the Budapest Bar Association since 2001-. He was successful in an EU open (EPSO) concours for Head of Unit posts (AD 12) in 2005. He is specialist of the law of EU Funds, EU external action law, the Law of EU enlargement and ENP, and of the EU institutional law. He is member of ASIL, ESIL, SIPE, CLEER and FIDE (CD). He is author, co-author, editor, co-editor of 13 books, and author of more than 100 academic articles.
